Welcome to Lebanon.
This home page has three important purposes (for details read the "Guide to the homepage").
One important purpose, is to give relevant and up-to-date information and news about Lebanon. The information relates to Lebanon as a state, to the beautiful sites in the country and to the hotels, restaurants and other services and amenities that are available there. The news, on the other hand, is daily, weekly or monthly and relates to the political situation, social and cultural happenings inside the country and among the Lebanese communities and organizations in the United States and other countries of Lebanese emigration.
Another important purpose is to facilitate the employment in Lebanon of Lebanese and persons of Lebanese origin, by offering free advertising to those seeking employment there and companies in Lebanon seeking persons with special skills. It also allows free advertising for Lebanese companies wishing to sell their products abroad as well as Lebanese wishing to import products that are in demand in Lebanon. For companies wishing to invest or execute projects in Lebanon, a special section giving an overview of economic opportunities is available.
Finally, this home page will facilitate contact with the Embassy and its Consulates General in New York, Detroit and Los Angeles not only by giving information about them, but also, and most importantly, by giving information on all consular formalities (visas, passport renewal, birth registration, etc.) and providing the necessary forms for them that may be printed directly from the home page, thus saving time for both the applicants and the staff of the embassy.
We hope that this is only a beginning of official Lebanon’s entry into the Internet and that this entry will grow to include all information required by you, the Lebanese at home and abroad, friends of Lebanon, as well as those interested in participating in the reconstruction and development of the country. In order to reach this goal, we need your remarks and suggestions. Tell us what you like and what you think is missing so we may serve you better.
We know that you love Lebanon and that your hearts are with it all the time. We are just trying to bring Lebanon one step closer to you.
P.S. This home page was designed and executed by His Excellency Ambassador Riad Tabbarah, staff at the Embassy, Rayan Sleiman and Gisele Azar . We taught ourselves the intricacies of doing a homepage and proceeded to design it and execute it. All diplomats and many of the local staff participated by giving useful opinions and views. Practically no commercial input was requested or received.
